$100 Idea: How to Increase the response to your letters by 300%...

Most people use a P.S. in the letter as an afterthought. But Ted Nichols, author of Magic Words that Bring You Riches, knows direct marketers that have seen response increase by 300% by adding effective P.S. to a sales letter. And Siegfried Vogele, professor of direct marketing in Munich, Germany, has done extensive testing in just what people look at in a mailing piece. First,, they look to see who sent it, then how letter is addressed; then their eye jumps to the signature. The next thing they read is the P.S.
Nichols suggests making it a practice to use a P.S. every sales letter. His ideas for the most successful P.S messages:
  • Motivate the prospect to action.
  • Reinforce the offer.
  • Emphasis or emphasize or introduce a bonus.
  • Introduce a surprise benefit.
  • Emphasize price or terms of your offer.
  • Emphasize tax deductibility of purchase.
  • Emphasize guarantees.

Making a business decision is just common-sense, when you have the facts!
