Who’s Who in Black Detroit includes Jason Wize

Who's Who in Black Detroit recognizes industry and community leaders

Detroit, Mi-- The 2012 edition of Who's Who in Black Detroit was recently unveiled at a black tie gala at the Westin Hotel in Southfield, Michigan. Among those recognized was Jason Wize of MediaProNow. Wize, who has served as Managing Partner since early 2012, joins this prestigious list for the first time. The Who's Who publications recognize industry and community leaders in Detroit and other cities across the country. "It's very humbling to be included with so many amazing people," Wize said. "The people in this room have accomplished so much and I feel like I still have much to do."

The evening began with a social hour where the guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and refreshments. Wize seized the opportunity to chat with old friends and contacts but also establish new business connections. "It's really a treat to be able to mix business with pleasure at an event such as this," commented Wize. "The room is full of Detroit's movers and shakers so you never know who you're going to meet."

In a room full of business owners Wize made several key contacts. He explained how MediaProNow helps businesses bring all their marketing efforts together. As he sees it, all facets of marketing play their own role but also tie into everything else. "If a business launches a new product or has a promotion, that is something to advertise," Wize explained. "We help clients to understand that they should advertise such things, but shouldn't stop there. Send a press release to gain media exposure, post status updates across your social networks, include your news in your blog and place signage in your store or office lobby calling out your message. These are just the basics but so many business owners fail to connect the dots."

Wize says that Who's Who in Black Detroit is really an opportunity for the city's forward thinkers to collaborate with each other. "I look at this group as a taskforce assigned to build a solid business, political and social foundation in the city of Detroit and beyond," Wize said proudly. "I am excited to be a part of it all."

MediaProNow is a public relations, marketing and media consulting firm specializing in Public Relations, Social Media Marketing, Search Engine Optimization and Maximized Advertising Results. MediaProNow's team of award winning journalists, marketers and internet experts provide complete media and marketing services at an affordable price. MediaProNow was founded on the premise that business owners are busy running their business and often don't have the time or resources to plan or and execute a solid marketing plan. With that, it's their mission to remove the burden typically associated with marketing so clients have more time to effectively run their business.

Home Improvement Tips To Keep You On The Right Track

Are you a home improvement novice? Don't worry if you feel uneasy right now. You're not alone. It's normal to feel this way, but you don't have to, thanks to the information below. This article is packed with ideas, inspiration and motivation. Read on!

Add fresh flowers or a bowl of fruit to your kitchen. A beautiful arrangement of fresh flowers or a bowl of brightly colored fruit will perk up any kitchen. Cheap and effective, this is a simple upgrade. Seeing a vase full of new flowers can make even dull days seem better in your kitchen while improving your mood.

Do you have an old dresser or nightstand in your bedroom that's in rough shape? You can easily restore the one you have by sanding and refinishing it. By refinishing, you'll save money and end up with a great-looking piece of furniture. Old furniture can be stained or painted in a number of different colors.

You can improve the windows in your home. Bring those windows up to date! Look to windows that are double glazed. They aren't your cheapest choice, but they are cost-effective in the long run. Not to mention, you are improving your home's security. If new windows are out of the question, purchase new frames or add curtains.

If you are interested in improving your home, one of the best places to start is with a fresh coat of exterior paint. Painting your home improves the curb appeal and makes it look new again. You are going to feel as if you are in a different home if you choose vibrant, different colors.

Consider a combo unit if you don't have much space available for a separate washing machine and dryer. You can fit lots of combo washer-dryers in a small space. The benefit of a combo unit is that it both washes and dries clothes within the single appliance.

When planning a landscaping project, you should take the style of your home into consideration. A patio and garden that match your house's style will be a coherent, integrated overall look, but when you clash styles, it may look unplanned and unattractive.

Water usage should be a consideration when planning a home improvement project. You can simply add water heaters, shower heads and low flow toilets. Making improvements that are green will increase the value of your home a good deal as they bring the appeal of lower energy costs. In the very least you will lower your own energy costs.

Look for home remodeling inspiration and ideas in magazines, home improvement retail stores and on television shows. While you may not even be ready to launch your project quite yet, clipping and saving things that appeal to you can make life easier when you do start to work. Also, you will be able to purchase materials ahead of time which may mean finding bargains, or at least spreading the expense over a period of time.

You should consider new floor covering if you are looking to update a room in your home, it is an easy way to quickly change the look. You can install laminate flooring on your own and it is nearly indestructible.

If you're doing any work in the bathroom or kitchen, turn the water off. You'll need to find the main shut-off in your home before you start any work that involves your plumbing. Taking this step can help prevent a flood.

Always tape the trim when you are repainting walls. No matter how careful you try to be, you will probably have a problem with paint dripping and running. Tape the trim to keep the paint off. However, if you get running paint on the trim, then repainting it may be required.

Use light colors to create a soothing atmosphere: purple, green or blue often work well. Use the light fabrics, such as linen or cotton, rather than dark brocades and heavy fabrics. Potpourri on the coffee table and a scented candle can also add serenity.

Invest in drawings for any improvements that you have for your house so that you do not end up having unsafe upgrades. It is worth spending more for the knowledge that it is done right. These records stay filed in your home, so if you need to sell, buyers can see that upgrades were completed properly.

If you want an inexpensive method of tiling a floor, try using vinyl as opposed to ceramic or stone tiles. Vinyl is durable, water resistant and strong. It is also easy to install because it contains adhesive on its back. You have the option of buying vinyl flooring in tile or sheet format.

A fresh coat of paint is the quickest and easiest home improvement project to tackle. A house that is newly painted looks brand new, and does not require a lot of cash or time. A new coat of paint is nearly as beneficial as buying a new home all together.

It is quite simple to build your own replacement window screen. You can buy a frame kit that you cut to fit any window. Then, all you do is attach the screen using the cording that is provided and some tools you probably have around the house. Your window may need a special screen type, but you can still make an external screen using adapters.

A few coats of paint in new color is the best way to revitalize and brighten your home. A simple coat of paint will transform a room quickly. Paint is very affordable and can increase your home's value. It is best to use light colors that go with the decor of your home.

Pay your contractor through credit card or check so that you'll be able to stop payment if you need to. This will help protect you if you employ a scam artist. Credit cards work best when disputing a transaction even when it goes through.

Home improvement is not as complicated as it is made out to be. Some projects may be quite difficult, but others are well within your reach. There are some small jobs as well. After reading the above article, you should be able to complete many home improvement projects.

MediaProNow boss Jason Wize speaks at Detroit College

Eager students learn how businesses are using Social Media to grow and connect

(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 17, 2012 ) Ideally college students are supposed to learn what they need to know to successfully enter the workforce. However, it's easy to find recent graduates that say they're not applying what they learned in school on the job. But thanks to Jason Wize, Managing Partner at MediaProNow, the students at Wayne County Community College will have an advantage over their peers.

Wize delivered a dynamic talk to a packed auditorium of students and future entrepreneurs at the Eastern campus of WCCCD. The topic was Social Media and how businesses are leveraging this platform to do amazing things. "Social Media has become the fastest growing segment of marketing today and businesses realize that," said Wize. "The question business owners need to ask is if they're in position to take advantage of it."

This isn't the first time Wize has graced the stage at the college. In the past he's given talks on entrepreneurship, marketing and how business owners can better manage cash flow. "WCCCD has nearly 22,000 students which makes it one of the largest schools in Michigan. My job is to make sure that everyone walks away with something useful they didn't know," Wize said.

Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin seemed to steal the show. Wize spoke about how businesses are using these social networks to build brand loyalty, generate sales leads and even recruit new employees. It was easy to hear a pin drop as much of the crowd was busy taking notes. After his remarks there was plenty of time for Q&A. "That's the most exciting part," exclaimed Wize. "I love the interaction with the audience because I get to personalize what was covered." WCCCD students will have much to look forward to as the school intends to book Wize for several dates in 2013. "As long as they keep asking me I will gladly spend time with the students. Besides, you never know when you're talking to your next new hire," Wize said with a smile.

“Social Media Marketing Tricks To Boost Your Business” by Jason Wize

No other advertising option offers the possibilities and freedoms of social media marketing. Your customization choices are only limited by the technology of the time, and you should always keep ahead of the curve. This article will focus on how to build a unique marketing plan that helps you stand out from the competition and create a name within your niche.

Whenever you're having a sale or a special promotion, you should use social media to promote it. You can post on Facebook, Twitter, a blog, and whatever other social networking sites you use and get your sale viewed by hundreds, if not thousands of people. It's a quick and free way to get people to know about your promotions.

Experiment with letting your customers help out each other. Many social media sites will allow you to put a user discussion forum on your social media page. Not only does this help build a community among your customers, it can help enhance your customer service. Customers may discuss different products with others and come to your sales representatives already knowing what they want.

Facebook Likes

If your blog has grown popular, put up some stats showing your visitors how many others follow your content. Demonstrating your growth through showing the number of Facebook "likes" you've received, Twitter followers you've accumulated or any awards your site or blog has received is a great way to prove your "social worth."

Twitter Followers

To pick up more Twitter followers, send messages to popular users. If they retweet your messages or respond to you, all their followers will see. Many of them will start following you, too. Be sure that the messages you send are thoughtful and interesting or you won't get a response.

LinkedIn

Make sure you make your profiles public. LinkedIn and Facebook both have privacy settings you can customize: remember that you are creating these profiles to advertise your products, and that you want as many people as possible to see your pages. You can block individual users if you are having issues.

It is important that the consumers spot your differences from older competition, or they will often go with the more established name. You can stand out from the rest by putting your own personal touches on the tips and techniques listed in the paragraphs above. If you follow those tips and your product supports your claims, it will help build a company you can be proud of.

Follow These Rules to Instill Value In Your Home by Casey Thebolt

Home improvement is the most cost-effective way to get a new home in this economy. In a buyer's market, it is too hard to find someone to buy your home at the price it is valued. Instead of dealing with the real estate hassle, why not improve the home you already have? This article has tips on how you can make your current home seem new.

The dominant weather conditions in your region should be taken into account when you are considering which home improvement projects to take on. Regardless of how much you might want a specific new feature, sometimes it might be impractical because of the weather. For example, a complex backyard barbecue project would not be a very good idea in the Pacific Northwest because of the high amounts of rain in that area.

Interior paint finishes come in a number of textures. For ordinary homeowners there is no reason to select a texture rougher than "eggshell" or "orange peel." In years gone by much rougher textures (like "popcorn") were used for walls and ceilings in order to provide visual interest and dampen sound. These textures proved easy to damage and hard to clean, and so fell out of common use.

When it comes to home improvement, it is important to know which types of improvements will add to the value of your home and which will not. This will be important when it does come time to sell your house. Such general maintenance such as sealing the driveway and replacing the roof will not add to the value, however, an additional bathroom or a patio may.

Check with your local fire department to determine what you can, or cannot store in your garage. Storing combustible materials (such as gasoline or used oil) is usually prohibited. Fire departments can restrict the storage area in your garage to prevent fires or make it easier for them to control it.

Instead of investing in all new furniture, you may consider having your current furniture repaired and reupholstered by a professional. Many times older furniture is higher quality and with some affordable repairs and refurbishing you will have better furniture for less money than when you invest in low-price new furniture.

Jimmy proof the locks on your window sashes. Most inexpensive window sash locks can be opened from outside the window by inserting a thin blade into the crack and pushing. Fix this problem by updating to newer and more secure locks. All you have to do is remove and replace a few screws!

If you travel frequently and leave your house unattended, consider installing timer lights in your home. These lights come on according to a programmed schedule - giving the appearance that the home is occupied - even when it is not. This is an effective deterrent for would-be burglars who look for unoccupied homes when hunting for potential targets.

Store your glue bottles upside down! Ever get annoyed when the tips of your glue bottled inevitably dry up between uses? Removing those plugs of glue is no fun. To prevent this just turn your tightly capped glue bottle upside down and sit it down inside another container to keep it propped up.

Consider hiring a professional landscaper to help you design a beautiful garden for your front yard. You can decide how much maintenance and effort you are willing to put into the upkeep, and he or she can suggest plants and flowers that will allow you to meet that goal.

Be flexible with your time. While you may expect a project to be done in a few weeks, you may need to plan in advance for it to take a bit longer. Life can sometimes get in the way of project completion, so spare yourself from disappointment, by giving a little leeway.

Never take on a home improvement project that you aren't fully confident that you can complete. Even if you want to do-it-yourself, if you aren't confident that you can finish the project on your own you should obtain professional assistance. This will prevent you from realizing halfway into the project that you aren't able to get it done, which can cost more than getting a professional from the start.

If space is at a premium in your home, consider remodeling the attic or basement. These often overlooked spaces can be a cost-effective way to gain more square footage in your home, without resorting to a costly extension. If the area is already partially finished, your project will progress quickly, and you'll be enjoying your new space in no time.

When trying to decide on a big-ticket home improvement project, such as new counter tops, choose a design that is durable and timeless. Leave the trendy colors and funky designs for your furniture and paint colors, which are easier to change, if you tire of them or decide to sell.

When it comes to home improvement, consider remodeling either your kitchen or bathroom first. These are two of the best ways that you can add the most value to your house. If possible, add an additional bathroom to your house as this is always a way to boost the value of your home.

Instead of using granite slab, use granite tile. Nice granite counter-tops made from slab can run into the thousands of dollars. You can cover the same area with granite tiles for a few hundred, and the aesthetics will be just as pleasing. Plus, you'll have a lot more money in your wallet to spend on another improvement for your home.

If you are looking to purchase new furniture, try not to get anything too big. The bigger the furniture is, the more cluttered a room will look. Instead, try to go with smaller, tasteful pieces. Arrange them in a way that the room is still easy to navigate in and out of.

The ideas in this article will help you discover how you can transform your current home into the house of your dreams with simple renovations. Home improvement is easier and less daunting than you might think, and is cost efficient when you are able to do some of the renovations yourself.

Dealing With Commercial Real Estate? Be Informed And Read These Tips

Buying commercial properties can be a dichotomy. You can make tons of money, but you can also suffer financial ruin. You not only need to choose your properties wisely, but also your funding sources. This article is packed full of tips that will help you to navigate the commercial real estate market.

At any given time, you should place your focus on only one investment. For example, you may choose to work mostly with apartment complexes, strip malls, undeveloped land or restaurants. It is best to be able give each investment your undivided attention to ensure the best possible results. Becoming a guru in one investment category is preferable to minimal success spread across multiple investments.

If you are investigating multiple properties, make sure that you take a site checklist with you. Collect responses from everyone that offers one, but inform the property owners before you do anything else. You may want to offhandedly let the owners know that theirs is only one of a few properties in which you are currently interested. Letting this fact slip may even result in your getting a more lucrative deal.

Make sure you factor in any problems regarding the environment. It's a good idea to thoroughly research the property and make sure it is free from hazardous waste material before purchasing it. Once you own the property, any problems, hazardous waste related or otherwise, are yours to deal with.

If you plan to rent out a commercial property, you should do all you can to make sure they stay occupied. Remember that if you have empty units, you have to take care of them. Maintenance costs on empty units can add up. If you have more than one property without someone in it, think about why that is, and fix any problems that might be occurring.
As you now know, investing in commercial real estate may not translate to easy money. It takes money to make money in this industry, not to mention a fair time and work investment too. There's no guarantee of success, either; you can do everything correctly and still lose money.

Purchase Your New Home By Following This Advice

In this article about real estate there are plenty of tips you can use to make better decisions when purchasing real estate. When reading this article make sure you understand all of the information presented and if you need to reread anything that might seem confusing, just keep in mind this article is here to assist you.

If you have heard rumors that your company is having financial trouble, it is not a good idea to buy a home now. It is easy to think that you will find a new job easily if you lose your present job, but you could lose your home if it does not happen. It is better to wait until you are in a stable job position, in order to make sure that your future is more secure.

When you are ready to make an offer on your dream home, be prepared to put down one to three percent in earnest money. This money serves as a deposit and tells the seller that you are serious about your offer and the fact that you really do want to purchase their house.

Are you looking to upgrade your living situation by buying a new home? If so, it is important that you understand exactly what you need in a living space as opposed to what you want from your living space. If you do not do this, you may buy a home that you cannot afford.

Do not be discouraged if you do not find the right home for you and your family right away. Searching for a new home is a long, tedious process that some people quickly give up on. You must learn to be patient, and eventually, you will find your dream home.

Develop a network of agents. One technique that might help you get insider access to properties prior to their being listed on the MLS is to contact agents directly, requesting that they call you if they come across any newly listed properties that meet your needs. The advantage for the agent is that you can offer them 100% of the commission earned on the transaction. It is best to work through a few agents, rather than to use a mail campaign where you contact many different agents. Quite simply, the costs involved in the mail campaign do not make this a worthwhile strategy.

If you're buying real estate as an investment, you cannot assume what other people may want. People's desires change depending on the state of the market, so always opt for low-priced property over property you feel to be more desirable to people. The object is to sell for a profit, not to leave a house sitting on the market for years.

If your job future is uncertain, wait to buy a home. Your job provides the income that pays the mortgage. Without that job, you're stuck in a financial mess. An uncertain job future can also lead to stress and might be cause for a move out of state. Waiting to purchase is your best option.

When you are buying a home, do not put all the savings that you have into your down payment. You should leave some of your savings in case of an emergency. You should not be surprised if something in your new house breaks down and you need funding to fix it.

As more and more home buyers do their shopping on the internet, curb appeal is more important than ever. Be sure to spruce up the exterior of your house before you put it on the market. If the outside of a house doesn't immediately attract attention, buyers will just click ahead to the next property.

Put in the time necessary to learn the industry. The average real estate investor spends around three years learning about the ins and outs of the industry. There are many regulations that you will need to become familiar with, and there are many different types of financing to investigate. It also takes time to build a network of professionals to help you build your business. Take the time necessary to learn before you invest, so that your money is being wisely invested.

It is very important to pick a home to live in that is in a good community. Does the neighborhood or area the house is in have good potential for increasing in value? What are the neighbors like? The neighborhood a house is in has everything to do with its potential and assessed value.

When looking for houses, be sure to write everything down. It is extremely helpful to keep track of everything from offers, tour dates of homes, repairs, etc. This will give you a good idea of what you have done, are currently doing, and what yet needs to be done, in this process. These extra steps will help you meet your goal of home ownership.

When buyers are considering the home that they are going to purchase, they only think about the here and now. It is also important to consider the future. You want to think in terms of it's selling power if you put it on the market in the future.

When looking to buy real estate a great tip is to plan ahead. This will allow you time to save plenty of cash to make a meaningful down payment. Because the mortgage is spread over such a long period there is a hefty interest charge, the larger upfront down payment the smaller the interest charge, and the smaller your monthly payments.

If you cannot afford a new home, you should look into financing. With mortgages, you can easily get a house now and pay for it little by little over the years. if you have a good credit report it should be easy to get a mortgage. Go to different banks to find the best mortgage possible.

With the knowledge you learned from this article you should feel more confident with purchasing real estate. The more knowledge you fill your brain with about real estate the more chance you have at making the decisions that should benefit you in real estate. So use the knowledge you learned from here and go out there and feel confident with your decisions.

Things You Should Be Aware Of When You Are In The Market For A Home

Whether you're looking for commercial properties, investment properties, wholesale properties, or simply a place to hang your hat and call home, be sure that you do not invest a single penny in the real estate market until you read this article. Find out how to become a real estate buyer before you put your money down.

When it comes to paying property taxes and hazard insurance on your property, you have two options. The first option is to have the cost of those two things added to your monthly payment and the mortgage company will pay them for you. On the other hand you can handle making these payments on your own, if you wait until the last minute you could owe a huge sum of money all at once.

An important tip to remember with purchasing real estate is to check the property tax in the area that you intend to live. This is important because it may result in a make or break for your budget. Your property tax rate may range in thousands of dollars in either direction depending on the local rates.

Veterans of the armed forces should consider taking advantage of a VA loan when purchasing their next home. VA loans offer no down payment options, and all closing costs can paid by the seller. There are capped points on a VA loan as well, and another veteran can assume your loan when it's time to sell.

If you have a pool or other water feature on your property, you may be required to have a safety fence put in place. A safety fence will keep out any small children who might otherwise wander in to a dangerous situation, or fall into a body of water.

Buying a property with large trees already growing on it may seem like a plus when looking into real estate as one would not have to plant their own trees and wait for them to grow. However, if the trees are rotting or otherwise damaged they may fall on the house or anything else around it.

One key to buying real estate in the current down market is to find houses that are selling for a small percentage of what their worth. Easier said than done, right? Well, one way to do this is to find houses that were taken because of back taxes. Usually you can purchase the house for the back taxes, plus any debt on the house. Often this is a fraction of what the house or property is actually worth.

When you are looking for a new home, make sure that the home has quite a bit of storage space. This would include closets in the bedrooms and other storage areas for other things. It is always nice to have plenty of room for storage because then it helps you keep your home looking nice and organized instead of looking cluttered.

When you are going to look at a house you need to make sure to pay close attention to the neighborhood as a whole and not just the house. You need to think about how close you are to conveniences you will need like grocery stores, schools, and hospitals.

People spend a considerable amount of time and energy to find their new home, but they usually find their real estate agent by sheer accident. In most cases, buyers find a listing they like and hire the agent of the listing to represent them. It is very convenient, but the buyers' agent will represent the buyer in the negotiation of a purchase, which is usually the greatest financial investment of their lives. They should spend more time finding their representative, and interview several agents before they choose the one they will work with.

Even if you do not have children that go to school it is still an excellent idea to buy property that is located in an area that has a good school district. This is because it will make your property more attractive to future potential buyers who have or want children.

When planning to buy a home, start saving the amount that you would be paying for your mortgage, less your current rent. This will allow you to become more comfortable with a higher monthly housing payment and get you money toward your down payment, at the same time. Once you save at least ten percent of the cost of the house, you are ready to buy.

When you are looking at buying a home look up the neighborhood for sex offenders. The police are in charge of keeping that list updated. However your agent may be able to help you find that information. Of course if you have children you wouldn't want to move next door to someone that has a record that involves children.

Inspect the property. You should look the property over very well, paying close attention to the homes around yours. Drive around the neighborhood to get a feel of what it's like. It may not be somewhere you want to live if you notice the neighborhood isn't to your liking.

Purchasing your first home is a wonderful life lesson. It will teach you the cost of home ownership and help you learn about maintaing your property. You will also build a network of people that can really help with investing. Your first home is an investment that should not be taken lightly.

Make sure the locks on a home that you want to purchase are changeable. This is because you should change your locks as soon as the home is yours. You never know if the previous made copies of the keys and therefore has access to your home. If the home has an alarm system, make sure to change the code.

Some people say that any house can become a home, but it's probably a safe bet that they'd retract that statement if they seen all the bad deals people are making today. Make sure your property is a solid lifelong investment, by using the tips in this article to make the best decision.
