Flex Academies’ Partnership with PTAs A Success

Flex strengthens offerings and provides a significant revenue stream

WASHINGTON, DC --Flex Academies, a trusted after school program management company for PTAs, is partnering with local middle schools to refine their afterschool programs and maximize their efficiency. This year it has partnered with three PTAs in Montgomery County. Just one month into the school year there are already visible positive results.

"Flex allows us to run a vibrant afterschool program," said Marisa Osorio, a Sligo Creek Elementary School parent who is involved in the school's afterschool program. "After trying an all-volunteer model, partnering with Flex has made our afterschool program much easier to administer. Flex allows us to run a vibrant afterschool program while avoiding volunteer burnout and gives us a more streamlined and stress-free process."

"Before we work with any school, we conduct a survey of the school's individual needs and goals so we can serve them as effectively as possible," said Joshua Chernikoff, Flex Academies' CEO. "At most schools, the PTAs had difficulties with budget, management, salary, quality of offerings, safety, and security. We took care of those difficulties for them and raised the program's quality in the process. One of our follow-up surveys concluded that 97% of parents said our offerings were diverse and the vendors who provided the instruction were very professional."

Flex Academies offers a solution to every aspect of an after-school program. Flex manages the full cycle of registration, including enrollment, payments, rosters, and reports to parents. Flex also designates an onsite administrator to assist with the responsibilities that would otherwise be solely handled by the PTA, such as tracking vendor performance, student attendance, and managing program logistics.

PTA presidents and principals are reaping the benefits of a partnership with Flex Academies. "The partnership has been very successful," said Diantha Swift, principal at Sligo Creek Elementary School. "Our children are receiving a lot of exciting experiences as part of the enrichment program afterschool! We've been delighted with the management of the program, with the communication, with the administration, and we can't be happier."
